My work merges my love of microscopic organisms, maps, aerial photographs, water movement, peeling paint, and Guatemalan woven textiles. When I paint, I love using multiple textures, layers, and scrapes, adding water at varying angles to see what emerges. To me, this represents the process of growth as we are changed into the people we are meant to be — a messy and painful process that never turns out how we expect. I hope that each painting evokes a sense of exploration, discovery, and emergence.
